Purchasing goods, preparing shipping documents, booking financial transactions, planning marketing measures and work in the HR department: Industrial clerks can take their pick. We teach business basics and show you how our processes are linked. The apprenticeship provides you with experience in different departments, such as procurement, logistics, marketing, sales and service, in accounting and HR. When you have completed your training, you will know which one is right for you.
The design, configuration and implementation of IT systems is the focus of this apprenticeship. Your tasks include installing and setting up hardware components, operating systems and networks corresponding to individual customer requirements. You will also resolve user problems and errors and work closely with our customers. A self-confident demeanor is just as important as mastering expert and diagnostics systems.
Developing and maintaining software solutions – these are the two main responsibilities of this profession. In addition to programming, this also includes the development of a concept beforehand, as well as testing and expanding the solution. In addition to being able to communicate clearly, the ability to approach problems logically and in an organized manner is key in this field.
As technical product designer you are jointly responsible for plans, detailed technical drawings or assembly drawings for our machines and components. You also learn to perform calculations and analyses and create the complex technical documentation resulting from them. You get insights into assembly, work preparation, quality assurance and all other departments that will later use your drawings for their work.
As an industrial mechanic, you have many responsibilities: You build equipment parts and assemblies for machines and production systems, set them up or modify them. Monitoring and optimizing production processes is as much part of your daily routine as recognizing and fixing machine faults. You will also perform periodic maintenance work at the customer's facilities and develop proposals that increase productivity – for example, by updating system components.
The term "mechatronic" encompasses the three components "mechanics," "electronics" and "informatics." The main areas of your work are just as diverse: For example, they include measuring and checking electrical and mechanical values, programming mechatronic systems, the assembly and maintenance of machines and the installation of hardware and software components.
As an electronic technician, you will install, configure and program the automation and operating systems of our systems and analyze functional relationships and sequences in automated processes. You work independently and abide by the technical code. During your training, you learn how to design, configure and connect electrical circuits so that everything works as intended. You will also gain experience in digital technology, feedback control, control and converter technology as well as with PLC controls.
Completely taking apart an old pinball machine, redesigning and building the housing and mechanical parts, replacing circuit boards and plug connections, equipping the playing area and housing with new displays illustrated specifically for KOCH and designing light effects: just one example of the exciting long-term projects on which trainees for various professions work together. Since it was finished, the KOCH pinball machine has found a permanent home in the training workshop alongside a football table; both are often used during breaks.

Working together with the Heinrich-Schickhardt vocational school in Freudenstadt we ensure that academic education and vocational training are more closely interlinked and assist apprentices as best as we can – both in school and in our company.
