Sustainable packaging solution for EBNAT

EBNAT AG is a brush manufacturer specialized in oral hygiene and household products. The Swiss company was founded in 1914 and can look back on over 100 years of experience. EBNAT's products are "Swiss made" and stand for tradition and innovation. The company has a clear commitment to the careful use of resources and the associated sustainable production.
Task
- Development of a customized machine concept with a sustainable packaging solution for interdental brushes
- Development for a sustainable packaging with very narrow packaging dimensions (< 10mm incl. product inlay)
- Internal brushes should not touch one another and their filament must not touch the packaging
- The packaging should have an opening mechanism and a resealable closure

- KBS-PL blister machine specially designed for our sustainable packaging solution cycleBox®
- Customized machine construction for the developed packaging solution (including the format part design with 3D printed parts for erecting the inlay)
- Comprehensive packaging development with the KOCH Packaging Competence Center:
- Material Assessment: Carrying out a proof of concept to test the material quality and assess the formability and sealability
- Packaging Development: Iinnovative product inlay to fix the interdental brushes and detailed test report of the formability of the cycleBox®, with its shallow depth
- Packaging Prototyping: Creation of preliminary samples at cardboard finishing Knapp and construction of test tools (incl. formability tests) for the Yaskawa 6-axis robot (handling)
We have been working with KOCH for almost 50 years, our oldest system still in production dates back to 1979!
